Welcome to the Nutpatch Confectionary Blog! Nutpatch Confectionary opened the doors of its first retail outlet in Novermber 2011, after many years of wholesale production. Situated in iconic Kettering, many have asked why such a location for the hidden treasures on offer inside the unsuspecting shop? The location for Nutpatch is perfect, with the hazelnut orchard located a short 2km drive from the shop and further production also located in Kettering.

A idealic drive for the weekend, just a 30 minute drive south of Hobart, Nutpatch's Kettering shop is sure to excite and please.

Nutpatch initially started production with its famous hazelnut nougat, which has now been diversified to also include almond. This nougat was an 18 month undertaking by confectioner John Zito, who perfected the technique from an age old Italian recipe and hasn't looked back since. For anyone who has tasted or heard about our nougat, it is unique, with its wonderful honey flavour and pure natural products. We pride ourselves for the fact that it doesn't stick to teeth and is a pure product. The nougat contains roasted Tasmanian Hazelnuts harvested from our local orchard, to always ensure the freshed possible produce is used in our products.

We also specialise in handmade fine chocolates and our range of confectionary keeps growing and growing. We enjoy inventing new products and creating things to challenge the imagination and tatse buds. Our blog aims to showcase some of what we do at Nutpatch.

We pride ourselves in perfection and aim to please, whether it be a gift for that special someone or a self indulgence, you are sure to find something to delight.

    My husband and I joined the Bruny Island Safari tour and this included a visit to Johns' Nutpatch shop, in Kettering. This is such a gorgeous and amazing gem to visit. The purity of such love for what you do to create such wonderful chocolate, is amazing.
    Thank you John - such a pleasure to meet you and see your lovely work - it makes us happy to know the true original methods, work and elements of confectionery still exist, but only within Nutpatch ;-)

  2. We also went on the bruny island safari tour with saving the best till last. A visit to nutpatch. I found John's work just amazing and even days after I had consumed my bag of milk chocolate buttons I could Still savour the taste. A true artist. Pity I didn't buy more. Having a husband hovering was truly intimidating and ruined my train of thought. Next time he can sit outside and wait. Diane Sanna Tallong NSW

  4. John, my wife and I were on board a Bruny Island tour recently and what better way to start the day than by eating your amazing products. Crème brulee chocolates at 8:00am should be enjoyed by everyone! The holiday is slowly becoming a distant memory but we can still taste that beautiful chocolate.   6. We were told of this fine chocalate establishment from Deborah Reid of Ried Orchards in Plenty. We visited there after our day travelling Bruny Island. Oh my god what an experience. We had the pleasure of finding the finest chocolates you will ever eat. The owner and chocolatier was the nicest man and a real craftsman of his trade.
    I absolutely recommend visiting this shop you will not be disappointed

  7. We visited on our honeymoon WOW this was the most amazing chocolate shop I have ever seen (Thank you Deborah Reid of Reid Orchards Plenty for the recommendation).
    The owner is so kind and his chocolates are above and beyond anything you could ever imagine.
